The Pangasinan people (Pangasinan:''Totoon Pangasinan'') are the eighth largest ethnolinguistic group in the Philippines. They live predominantly within Pangasinan province, located on the west central area in the island of Luzon along Lingayen Gulf. The term Pangasinan can also refer to the indigenous speakers of the Pangasinan language or people of Pangasinan heritage. ==Etymology== The name Pangasinan means "land of salt" or "place of salt-making". It is derived from ''asin'', the word for "salt" in Pangasinan. The Pangasinan people are referred as ''taga-Pangasinan'', which means "from Pangasinan".
